Strut your stuff with McDougall at the Calgary Pride Parade

Get ready to show your Pride! Marching in the Pride Parade is important to McDougall, as we walk in solidarity and celebration of all identities and expressions, and embody the love of God for all. Grab a pink boa or anything bright and colourful and wave a rainbow flag to show your support in a tangible way! You'll walk alongside McDougall folks and be surrounded by our friends at Calgary's Affirming United Churches as you move past over 60,000 spectators in this family friendly parade. All are welcome to walk with us!

It's been a remarkable year for McDougall's Affirming Committee which, just a year ago, marched in its first Calgary Pride Parade. After a lot of work, it scheduled a date where church members voted to become an Affirming Committee, solidifying McDougall's commitment to be a welcoming and inclusive church.

If you want to join the crowd and hand out buttons and pamphlets along the route let us know. We'll also need folks to sit at our booth at Pride in the Park, a free outdoor cultural celebration that takes place immediately after the parade at Prince's Island Park. You can take a shift at the booth, then enjoy the live music on the main station, beer gardens or grab some food and local items at the marketplace.

To join in the fun, call Affirming Committee member Shirley Wilding at 403-685-0865 or email her swilding@shaw.ca.
