-Pam Rocker, Director of Family & Spiritual Development
How do we have difficult but important conversations about how to live out our faith, especially when it comes to being truly inclusive? Brave Spaces is here to help!
Our keynote speaker is Erik Carter, Professor of Special Education at Vanderbilt University. His research and teaching focuses on evidence-based strategies for promoting valued roles in school, work, community, and congregational settings for children and adults with intellectual disability, autism, and multiple disabilities.
We are also proud to announce that Jan Derbyshire will be performing one of her plays, Certified, as the opening of our conference! She will also be facilitating two workshops with us. Jan is an established multi-disciplinary designer and theatre artist, producer, inclusive educator and innovator. She specializes in the design of playful and participatory experiences. Jan is an award winning Canadian Playwright with works produced across the country and holds a Masters in Inclusive Design from OCAD University in Toronto.
We will also have a workshop with our very own Tony Snow, Coordinator Community Care, and reflections from Brave Spaces team member Danna Ormstrup, Executive Director of Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society.
Everyone is welcome at this very special event, and we will be inviting people from far and wide to come! Please spread the word and think about who you should invite. Boards, committees, leaders, ministers, individuals, and anyone who wants to know how to better create Brave Spaces!
