Refugee Petition Update June 5, 2026

Thank you again to the 158 people from McDougall and Red Deer Lake United Churches who signed this petition requesting MP Stephanie Kusie’s support in helping Mojib’s Afghan family come to Canada. In response Ms. Kusie’s case manager Sarah Watson has contacted Immigration (IRCC) asking specific questions about progress with the file and urging them to give priority to this family. Immigration responded but the file has not progressed. We have written again to MP Kusie asking to meet with her to see if together we can figure out how to get the consulate in Islamabad to take action on this file. With Sarah’s help we are on their radar and we hope it will not be too long before we can meet with MP Kusie.
