Week 27 – Donate to Support Survivors and Families from Robertson, David A. 52 Ways to Reconcile: How to Walk with Indigenous Peoples on the Path to Healing

This week focuses on supporting Residential School Survivors and their families.

For many Survivors, sharing what happened at residential schools was never an option. Many carried deep feelings of shame, had little support, and did not feel safe speaking about their experiences. As a result, countless stories remained untold for generations….

The Acadia Food Pantry Information, June 2026

The Acadia Food Pantry (AFP) is a no barrier program that provides free food to those in need on the third Tuesday of each month, 11:45 am – 12:45pm. It was established in April 2019 when two Acadia residents and the City of Calgary Community Social Worker for Acadia reached out to Christ Moravian and McDougall United to help support the large number of people living in Acadia who experience food insecurity and were not fully served by the Calgary Food Bank. McDougall was chosen to house the program because its facility has the capacity to store and distribute the food…

Week 24 – Recognize Indigenous Innovation
From 52 Ways to Reconcile: How to Walk with Indigenous Peoples on the Path to Healing by David A. Robertson

This week invites us to look at the incredible innovation Indigenous Peoples have demonstrated for thousands of years, and how settlers arriving on this land dismissed Indigenous knowledge, laws, cultures, values, beliefs, medicine, and social structures. In doing so, settlers stripped Indigenous Peoples of their rights, their land, and their ways of life while claiming they had no rightful place on the land they had inhabited for generations….

Week 22 - Learn the History of the Potlatch Ceremony
from Robertson, David A. 52 Ways to Reconcile: How to Walk with Indigenous Peoples on the Path to Healing

This week invites us to learn about the Potlatch ceremony, and in doing so, to reflect on how differently cultures can understand things like wealth, status, and generosity. Robertson begins by naming something many of us recognize in ourselves and in the culture around us: a tendency toward accumulation. We gather stuff. We measure success by what we have. Sometimes we even find ways to display it, whether that’s through what we own, collect, or show to others. This isn’t just “out there” in the culture; it’s something many of us participate in, even in small ways….

Scholarship Week Four: Investing in the World We Hope to Build

Lately, I have found myself thinking about the kind of world we hope future generations will inherit. Are we working toward a world shaped by compassion, where people can find belonging and support? Do we want a world with thoughtful healthcare, strong communities, meaningful work, and opportunities for people to flourish? Can we envision world where creativity, innovation, wisdom, and justice continue to shape how we live together?…
