Summer Stage! Musical Theatre Camp & Show
If you haven’t heard yet, something truly special is happening this summer. We’re in the midst of our musical theatre camp and have just wrapped up a vibrant and joy-filled first week!
Our hearts are full as we spend each day with 15 incredible campers, aged 8 to 14, guided by three inspiring youth leaders, our dedicated ministry and staff team, and the amazing hospitality crews from both Red Deer Lake United and McDougall United congregations. Together, this beautiful tapestry of people is pouring love, energy, and care into making this camp unforgettable.
The children have been working with passion and determination—learning lines, memorizing music, and forming bonds that go far beyond the stage—as they prepare to shine in our upcoming production of Junie B. Jones the Musical.
This camp is more than just a summer activity—it’s a ministry of our church and a joyful expression of community. Thanks to the generosity of the David Ferguson Music Fund, we’ve been able to offer bursaries to families for whom cost would otherwise be a barrier. These opportunities are helping us bring together a vibrant and diverse group of kids, showing that theatre truly can be a great equalizer—where everyone has a part, and everyone belongs.
What’s being built here goes well beyond the performance. These young people are creating lasting friendships, cherished memories, and a deep sense of belonging. And they want to share their joy with you.
We believe it’s powerful for youth to know that their community is behind them—cheering them on every step of the way. So we warmly invite you to be part of their journey and join us next week for our two performances. Your presence would mean the world to them—and to all of us.
We have two shows the first being on Saturday August 2nd at 7PM, and the second on Sunday August 3rd at 1PM
Tickets can be purchased online here:https://www.mcdunited.com/store, in person on Sunday after service in the hospitality hall, or through the office.
