We are thrilled to invite you to an upcoming opportunity to deepen your spiritual life and connect with others at Red Deer Lake, McDougall, and Ogden United churches. Building on the October event, Rev. Cox will offer a five-week program called Advent Palates.

Event Two: Advent Palates – A Five-Week Journey
Dates: Five Wednesdays in November (starting November 5)
Location: Red Deer Lake United Church
Time: 5:45 - 7:45 pm
Cost: $60 for all sessions

Each evening will include:

• A shared meal (different themed dishes each week).

• Scripture, poetry, and contemporary reflections on Advent.

• Casual table conversation to help us unpack the deeper meaning of these themes.

• A creative exercise that invites participants to explore spiritual questions through images, symbols, and storytelling.

This program is not just for artists—it is for anyone who wants to engage spirituality in a fresh way. Those who already have a deep faith will find new insights, while those who are spiritually curious (sometimes called “spiritual but not religious”) will find a safe and engaging space to explore.

Rev. Cox has successfully led this type of programming in the past, jokingly referring to it as “Bible study with training wheels.” It has proven to be a wonderful way of deepening the spirituality of church members while also  drawing in those from the wider community.
