Prepared to Drown is a monthly recorded podcast & live event with a variety of exciting themes exploring the intersection of faith & the world we live in today.
Podcast Episode: “Man Enough”
Churches sing about a holy family searching for shelter while unhoused people in our own cities are moved along, designed out of public spaces, and blamed for surviving where everyone can see them. The biblical story is more complicated than the innkeeper and stable of our Christmas pageants, yet it still unfolds amid overcrowding, political power, vulnerable birth, and forced displacement. How did Christians learn to cherish homelessness as sacred imagery while resisting unhoused people in real life—and what are we prepared to make room for when welcome costs us something?
Podcast features: Rev. Bill Weaver, Ricardo De Menezes, Rev. Joanne Anquist
