OBITUARY
It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Robert (Wayne) Peddie on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the age of 91 years.
Born in Eston, SK, Wayne was the beloved son of Peter and Jessie Peddie. He grew up alongside his siblings, Florence (Jack) Lunan, Bryon (Ardyth, Vickey) Peddie, and Carol (David) Burton. A proud graduate of Wartime and Elrose Schools, Wayne went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. He remained a dedicated member of the U of S Alumni and APEGA throughout his life.
Wayne served his country with distinction as a Flying Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1954 to 1960. His professional career as a pipeline engineer spanned several decades and included roles at Williams Brothers Engineering, Canuck Engineering, Gulf Canada, and later, his own consulting firm.
Wayne’s passions were many—he loved watching sports, curling, golfing, playing cards, and especially cherished family gatherings and his annual snowbird trips to Yuma, AZ. Happy hour was always a highlight.
He was immensely proud of his family. Wayne was a devoted father to Stephen (Amanda) Peddie, Scott (Karla) Peddie, and Susan (Greg) Sweetnam; and a loving stepfather to Leanne MacKenzie, Jodie (Troy) Blasken, Carol (Bob) Munday, David (Lola) Dyck, Darrell (Ruth) Dyck, Shirley (Lloyd) Mack, Leslie (Len) Regush, and Brenda (Brad) Dixon.
Heleaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren, Travis Peddie, Robyn (Justin) Rogozinsky, Evan (Amanda) Peddie, Ethan Peddie, Eden (Mack) Jordan, Elan Peddie, Jenna Sweetnam, and Taylor Sweetnam; and great-grandchildren, Avalon, Everley, and Kyella Rogozinski, Huxlee and Brixton Peddie, and Miles Jordan. He was also blessed with fifteen step-grandchildren and seventeen step-great-grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Alvina Peddie. He was predeceased by his wives, Lenora (Baum) and Delores (Ruzycki-MacKenzie); his son Scott, siblings, Florence and Bryon; and his parents.
Wayne’s warmth, wisdom, and wit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
