SECOND QUADRIMESTRE (May - August) 2026    PASTORAL CARE REPORT

Committee : Shirley Wilding, Sharon Hudspeth, Katie Mutlow, Joan Johnston, & Esther Petersen 

As Pastoral Care Minister, Rev. Bill serves McDougall, Ogden, and Red Deer Lake phoning and visiting people.  Rev. Joanne Anquist returned from her Medical leave on May 4, 2026.

May 6 : Zoom meeting

Seniors’ Lunch was Tuesday May 5. Foundations for the Future school students served.  Mari Croisier made great table centres. Sharon Hudspeth made 3 door prizes, Joan Johnston made Fruit cocktail dessert and Shirley Wilding helped with grocery shopping on Monday, May 4. It cost $361.07 for food and $575 for table centres.

Rev. Joanne led the services at Lake Bonavista Village and Fish Creek Manor  on May 19.

The Podcast on May 8 was talking about Loneliness. 

The Intergeneration Group with Seniors and Lord Beaverbrook students had 3 activities in May and had their windup on May 29.

Camp Kasota was May 29 – 31.

June 3: Zoom meeting

Pastoral Care Workshop on” Visiting”, led by Rev. Bill, was held at Red Deer Lake church for 4 Monday afternoons – June 8, 15, 22 and 29.  15 people attended. A grant for Abundant Aging of $10,000 funded the Visiting workshop and Grieving Through Grace sessions. Rev. Bill plans a 1 day workshop on MAID in Feb. 2027 at McDougall.

Rev. Joanne was on vacation in June.  Rev. Danah  and Rev. Bill plan holidays in August.

Rev. Bill led the services at Lake Bonavista Village and Fish Creek Manor on Tuesday, June 15.

The McDougall members were surveyed regarding the  Photo Directory.

The movie Frozen was shown as a fundraiser on Sat., June 13.

July – no Pastoral Care meeting

Summer Camp was held July 13 – 17 and July 20 – 24.  A David Ferguson grant funded the camp and the mask making in the play of “James and the Giant Peach.”


August  - no Pastoral Care meeting

Podcasts: August 14, 21, 28, and Sept. 4  discussing the upcoming Alberta Referendum 

Rev. Bill did not get his holidays in August.

Calgary wide PRIDE service was held at McDougall on August 30 at 7 PM
