Rev. Grant Dawson Retirement Announcement

I have enjoyed the past thirteen months working with the Red Deer Lake community. And this has been enhanced this year with the addition of new work colleagues and friends at McDougall and Ogden. However, as I am sure most of you know, I have decided to step down from my position at the end of June.

I suppose I could say this has been necessitated as I have been offered some amazing new position, like becoming the pope or going off to minister on the International Space Station. However, as so often happens in life, my motivation for the decision is much more mundane. I have family to visit, trips to be taken, dates to go on with Dorothy—like spontaneous weekends off somewhere,—writing  to be undertaken, restaurants to review, and video games to play. In short, it is time to retire.

I shall still visit you, and am even willing to work around the Region if needed. But I would like to lay the steady work routine aside and try to just wander around tinkering with life.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been of some help to you and to have been the recipient of your generosity and hospitality.

Thank you.

Grant Dawson
