Sweet Spring Notes: Concert Line Up

The concert part of our Sweet Spring Notes Fundraiser on March 6, 2026 is really coming together. We are so excited to announce some of our performers. You will notice from the list that all performers have a connection to McDougall, which in our mind, makes this a very special evening! In alphabetical here are some of the performers, their connection to our church and a little bit about them.

  • Collective Spirit - If you attend our Sunday worship services, then you have probably already seen this talented group perform. They are under the direction of Tanya Wan Lim and perform during our Sunday services once a month. Collective Spirit rehearses on Thursday evenings once a month. They are our worship band and play a wide variety of music.

  • Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band - Chances are, if you have visited the church on a Tuesday evening, you might have heard this group rehearsing. The Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band is Southern Alberta‘s premiere youth pipe band. With members ranging in age from 8 to young adult and spread from Lethbridge to Innisfail, we strive to introduce young pipers and drummers to the piping community. The band was formed in 1972, under the name Ogden Legion Pipe Band. Although they changed their name to Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band, they remain loyal to their roots. After taking a brief hiatus due to COVID, and with the generous support of the Calgary Burns Club, the band has revived the Ogden Indoor competition held at the beginning of May each year.  Participation in the band offers our young members many exciting, unique, positive, and rewarding experiences. We are always recruiting new members and no experience is necessary.

  • Hippocratic Oath Big Band - This is another group that uses our church for their rehearsal space. This group meets on Thursday evenings. If you attended our November 1st Turkey Dinner, Variety Show & Silent Auction back in 2024 then you know what a treat you are in for. This is a lively group that will get your toes tapping and transport you back to the big band era.

  • McUke Players - If you have attended any of our Stampede Breakfasts then this is a group that you probably recognize. They have also played during our Sunday church services. They rehearse at McDougall on Wednesday nights. Made up of a talented group of Ukulele players, this is one that you are really going to enjoy hearing from.

  • Tanya Wan Lim (piano) & Briam Perez (Cello) - You may recognize Tanya as our Sunday morning pianist and are already familiar with her talent but we hope to really showcase it when we pair her with Briam Perez on his cello.

  • AND MORE - we are working on a few more surprises….

We are thrilled that our Choral Music Leader, Justin Macosky will be our MC for the evening.

We really hope that you will purchase a ticket(s), invite some friends and come out and support this fun evening. We will also have some delicious desserts, silent auction (want a preview, check this out) with all money raised going to support the church.

Tickets for the evening are $20 for adults and $10 for children. Their will be dessert, silent auction and a concert. We hope that you will be able to join us, you can learn more and purchase tickets here.

This event is being put on by the Marketing and Fundraising team. You can learn more about them by visiting their webpage.
