Leadership Council: Volunteer Positions Week 4

Leading up to the McDougall AGM on March 1st, we will be reviewing each of the volunteer positions that make up our leadership council. Many of these positions are up for nominations. We encourage you to review these positions and consider whether one of them might be something you could do, or if you know someone else who would be an amazing fit. This week we will be looking at the Ministry Team Leads/Co-leads and Working Group  Leads/Co-leads

Ministry Team Leads/Co-leads

Represent one of McDougall’s four Ministry Teams on the Leadership Council:

• Worship and Spiritual Development

• Pastoral Care

• Family and Community

• Outreach and Social Justice

Co-lead Responsibilities:

• Be a congregational contact to the lead minister of the team

• Be responsible for the Quadrimestre reporting on behalf of the ministry team

• Be an administrative support for the lead minister of the team

• Coordinate a small group of congregation members to meet regularly with the lead minister of the team

• Not necessarily be a member of the formal Leadership Council but may be called upon to attend meetings as required

Working Group  Leads/Co-leads

Represent one of Council’s Standing Working Groups:

1. Operations WG

• responsibilities related to the operational business of the church, including oversight of the church budget

2. Ministry and Personnel WG

• responsibilities related to the church’s ministers, staff and contract employees

• Lead to be part of the Joint M&P committee

  3. Property WG

• responsibilities related to the maintenance and repair of the church buildings and grounds

OR 

Represent One of Council’s Ad Hoc Working Groups 

• appointed by Leadership Council as needed e.g.:

• Marketing/Fundraising WG

• Nominations WG (created April 2025)
