The Acadia Food Pantry (AFP) is a no barrier program that provides free food to those in need on the third Tuesday of each month, 11:45 am – 12:45pm. It was established in April 2019 when two Acadia residents and the City of Calgary Community Social Worker for Acadia reached out to Christ Moravian and McDougall United to help support the large number of people living in Acadia who experience food insecurity and were not fully served by the Calgary Food Bank. Acadia School Lunch Program Update

This program has been operating in cooperation with the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour and many wonderfully dedicated volunteers for over six years. Due to all the pandemic changes at both the church and schools as well as decreased funding, this program has sadly come to an end. In August, for the last time, we prepared prepackaged lunch items as well as breakfast cereal which was distributed by the Acadia Pantry Program.
