Congregational Survey Follow Up

The input received from the recent Congregational Survey provided the Leadership Council with plenty to discuss at our meeting last week. Not surprisingly, no easy answers emerged for reducing our budget deficit this year.

The responses in the Fundraising and Donations sections of the survey were encouraging. 63 of the survey respondents indicated that they have submitted an annual pledge to the church during the Stewardship Campaign last Fall. Another 10 indicated  that they do not pledge but donate to the church throughout the year as they are able. Others donate on a monthly or annual basis.  For this support we are truly grateful.

In the background information provided in the survey, it was stated that  “If 100 donors raised their pledge by $500 this year, we would raise the $50,000 needed to balance the 2024 budget”. That is a big ask, but we are thrilled to report that several donors have already stepped up to make that additional  donation, either by increasing their pledge for the year or making a one-time donation.

38 survey participants chose the following response in the Donations section: “I will endeavor to increase my donations to the church throughout the year as I am able”. That is wonderful news! The more we can all  increase our givings (even a little!) in April, the more impact it will have on the year-to-date donations figures that the Leadership Council review in May  prior to preparing for the Congregational budget  meeting in June.

Thanks  again for all the ways you contribute to the life of future  our  community of faith!
